It is with great regret that I inform you of the passing of Superintendent Ezell Simmons, Pastor Emeritus of Eighth Street COGIC and former Chairman of the Pastor’s and Elder’s Council for the Texas South Central Ecclesiastical Jurisdiction.

Superintendent Simmons was a Holy Ghost preacher, a Good Shepherd to his congregation, and an ardent jurisdictional worker and supporter. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, and spiritual father/grandfather to many and we are saddened at the passing of this great giant in the gospel.

The funeral arrangements for Superintendent Simmons are as follows:

There will be a Memorial Service for Superintendent Ezell Simmons on Friday, May 27, 2016 from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Superintendent Simmons will lay in repose on Saturday, May 28, 2016 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. and the Homegoing Celebration will commence at 11:00 a.m. All services will be held at New Life Tabernacle COGIC located at 3021 Desoto Street, Houston, TX 77091.

The final remains have been entrusted to Carl Barnes Funeral Home, 742 W. 22nd Street, Houston, TX 77008. Please continue to keep the family in your prayers during this time of great sorrow.
